xPortal Launch Begins in a Few Hours: Transition Timeline

The big day is here.

xPortal takeoff is happening today and we want to share with you a complete picture of how the rollout will take place.

This is a moment of significant impact for the MultiversX ecosystem and beyond. A Super App that brings digital finance, Web3 apps, AI avatars, friends, chat and Metaverse experiences together. For the first time ever.

The excitement building around the community is immense. For users of the first iteration of the app, here is a clear timeline of how the transition to xPortal will unfold.

• 13:00 UTC - Current app iteration enters migration mode and xPortal becomes available in app stores (both iOS & Android) and everyone can update
  

Maiar profiles and data stop working, and Maiar will prompt you to update the app. xPortal becomes available in app stores (both iOS & Android) and everyone can update. Once you update, the Maiar app will transform into xPortal, which will start in migration mode. Migration mode will take approximately ~4 hours.

During the migration time, rest assured that your funds will remain completely safe and secure. And you will soon receive access to the new app and flows, importing all your relevant data from Maiar to xPortal.

• 13:30 UTC - Migration begins and a Maiar app state snapshot is taken and saved. If you’ve not done so, make sure that a backup is done before this time.
  

Everything happens in the background, without you having to perform any action.

• 15:30 UTC - Migration should be completed by this time, and data review checks begin
  
• 16:30 UTC - Final data review checks are being completed
  

As always, we put security above everything. After finalizing the data check process, we are setting in motion the global rollout.

• 18:00 UTC - Progressive rollout across the world
  

This is when you will be able to start interacting with the next xPortal App, which will progressively switch to full functionality mode.

This first version will be a BETA one. For the first two weeks, we’ll intentionally try to heavily test it and find its limits. We’ll quickly fix bugs and bring new and improved releases every day.

As soon as the app launches: get it, play with it, explore it, submit any bugs or issues you find, and be eligible for a special SFT reward, awarded on the 15th of March.
