And it’s happening right now – strikingly in Web3. AI is already launching tokens, creating markets and managing liquidity in real time without human intervention. The game has changed.

Now, we’re taking it further with the AI MegaWave Hackathon.

Participants will be able to work on transformative solutions across multiple areas:

• AI agents: Build intelligent agents capable of autonomously interacting with decentralized systems, whether it’s AI-powered trading bots or ones that manage portfolios based on real-time data insights.
• DeFAI protocols: Create powerful on-chain finance solutions powered by AI, like self-adjusting lending protocols, AI-driven liquidity optimization or autonomous risk management models.
• Dev tooling: Innovate the MultiversX dev ecosystem with AI-powered tools that automate code generation, optimize contract deployment and enhance dApp debugging.
• Other on-chain solutions: Feeling inspired? This is your canvas to bring any AI solution to life across gaming, NFTs, chatbots, RWA, DePIN and beyond.

Hackathon Details

• Format: Online-only
• Tracks: 3 focused tracks centered on AI and AI Agents
• Timeline: 3+ weeks from start to finish
  
  • Education Phase (AI Week): Feb 12 - Feb 17

The first few days are all about learning, building, and preparing for the upcoming hackathon. Each day, we’ll be publishing resources and offering our support to help you level up:

We’ll be on Discord and Telegram every day to teach, answer questions, and help you form teams. By the end of this week, you’ll have everything you need—including the chance to join our online open discussion about the hackathon—so you can start trying out the tools and resources right away. We can’t wait to see what you build!

Rules

• Team Size: Teams can have up to 5 members.
• Original Work: All submitted projects must be original but are not required to be developed entirely during the hackathon timeframe.
• Open Source: Projects must be open-source.
• Use of AI: Each project must integrate AI in some capacity—this can include AI agents, smart contracts leveraging AI, or AI-generated frontends, AI-generated anything.
• Mandatory Working Prototype: Every submission must include a working prototype demonstrating the core functionality of the project.
• Mandatory Pitch Deck: 
  
  • Teams must provide a pitch deck outlining their project’s concept, technology stack, and market/application potential.

• The pitch deck will be used to select which teams advance to Demo Day.

• Mandatory MultiversX integration.
• Submission Requirements: Complete project submission includes:
  
  • A working prototype (must be demonstrated in some way: live, recorded video, etc.).
  • A pitch deck explaining your project’s functionality and vision.
  • Documentation on how to run or test the prototype.

• Demo Day: Teams invited to Demo Day will have 3-5 minutes to pitch their projects and an additional 3 minutes for Q&A from the judges.
• Judging Criteria: Projects will be evaluated based on:

• Innovation
• Technical Execution
• Real-World Applicability
• Further development.
• Presentation

• Code of Conduct: All participants must follow the hackathon’s code of conduct, maintaining a respectful and inclusive environment for everyone.
